![]() 3 countries in less than 24 hours... We've just arrived in Krakow after a very long hot night-train ride from Prague after arriving from Dresden that afternoon. Heading off to Auschwitz this morning then will more than likely come back to the hostel for a sleep this afternoon before heading back to Prague tomorrow morning.

![]() gutentag again... Last day in Germany (for a few days anyway). Dresden has been very relaxing - and very hot!!! Spent a few hours yesterday at the pool with many other locals... thought I wouldn't be needing the sunscreen until Italy but I was very wrong. Had a bit of a wander around last night and a drink on the river. Very stupidly didn't take my camera with me so took some snaps with the phone... Water Fountain - Dresden View across the river Augustus the Strong Andrew the Stronger - his words not mine! Today it's on to Prague then the plans have changed a little bit. A group of us are taking ourselves across the border to Krakow then heading down to visit Auschwitz. Really glad Tim and Bianca mentioned they were going to go because I was something I had originally planned on but decided it was all too hard to organise - now there's 6 of us going so it should be much easier. Okay, emails to send and bank accounts to check so I'll sign off for a while...

![]() gutentag... First of all...the hostel in Berlin is plush...and Laura and I have just treated ourselves to a shopping expedition - H&M bore the worst of it, but I managed to pick up some things I felt I needed (jumper and an extra pair of 3/4 shorts)...when most of the museums are shut, what else is a girl to do but shop? Yesterday I did the walking tour which was quite interesting but it seems like the bike tour would have been a better option because the people who did that felt like they learnt and covered so much more than the walking tour. Might have to do that one as well... Have managed to see the remains of the wall, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and a few other landmarks though. I've got a couple of extra days in Berlin to chill while everyone else heads off to Dresden or Prague. Thursday I'm off to Dresden then skipping through Prague on the way to Vienna. Have promised myself a lovely steak in Prague though... Aussie flag in Berlin Bar ![]() Amsterdam was not nearly as "beautiful" as I expected...all of the canals and bridges end up looking like every other one after a while and once you've walked through the red light district once, you don't really need to go back there!!! I did manage to find myself a massage though...no, not the seedy "half naked lady" variety...the basement of a chinese herbalist variety which was lovely except that I then had to put my backpack back on and walk to the other side of the city where my hostel was. I really enjoyed Anne Frank's house...brilliantly displayed and explained, the red light district not nearly as "in your face" as I expected...and that's about all of Amsterdam for me... Oh, and the cheese and clog factory that we rode to on the bike tour. Amsterdam Canal

![]() Another quick update... Off to see the Flanders Fields today. Brugge is such a cute little town - almost Cesky Krumlov but not quite. Arrived on the bus at midday yesterday and checked into our hostel before heading out to explore the town. Met up with a few people on the bus for dinner and worked out that one knows Caitlin through work - yes, it's a small world. Then off to a small bar where Bradley sampled a bit of everyone else's drink. He didn't quite make it through all 300 varieties though! Well, the troups are mustering so I'd better sign off and hoof it.

![]() It has begun... My 4 days in Paris have gone well despite the weather being terrible for 2 days and having a shocking cold/flu. I've done all the majors - The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumphe, Champs Elysee (I even bought something...okay, so it was just a Big Mac), Sacre Coeur, Jim Morrison's grave and many bagettes in beautiful gardens. Running out of time at the internet cafe but can upload one photo... The Moulin Rouge Next stop Belgium...
