Tarkyn Lockyer...yes, that's ermmm a bottle of orange juice in my hand...

Chris Tarrant...everyone agrees he's much nicer than the UK Chris Tarrant...
Nathan Buckley...note: Paul Licuria took this photo and obvious didn't find it necessary to include any of the top I was wearing - yes, I was still wearing my top!!!

who'd have thought a trip to Bath would reveal some family history...

met up with Bron at Paddington (and yes, Bradley Bear got his photo this time) and headed to Bath by train. was great to catch up with Bron and to have a look around this gorgeous city...saturday we headed out to the American Museum to check out a quilt display mum keeps telling me about...turns out there were two exhibitions of quilts (both absolutely stunning) plus the museum was quite interesting (even if it was a bit out of place learning about American history while in the UK)...had tea on the terrace overlooking the rolling green hills...ahh, the serenity!!!

a bit of a wander around Bath followed and a quick squiz at the touristy pamphlet and we were off to visit the Penfold Post Box followed by a quick sit in the Bath Abbey...pasta dinner and a quick walk around the streets by night, followed by an early night in our amazingly clean hostel (even if it was a little loud outside)...

we spend sunday morning on the "walking tour of Bath" starting with the Roman Baths which were absolutely stunning and the museum info really well presented, we did participate in the "taking of the water" from the dodgy looking man in traditional costume but I only managed to get two mouthfuls down because it didn't exactly taste very pleasant!!! decided to by-pass the Jane Austen museum in favour of the Museum of Costume...a picnic in the park, a bit of shopping and a visit to a chocolate bar and it was time to head home...

monday my flu/cold thing decided to step up another level and headed home from work before remembering that I had the Regurgitator concert to go...was an excellent gig and Quan probably summed it up best when he said early on that they "sounded like a coverband of themselves" because they didn't have all their equipment with them...official verdict - they rocked!!!

geez...what else has happened...the weekend before last was a pretty big one...MFG gig on friday night...and yes, they rocked too! Widow Jones did the warm up before the rest of the band came on stage...including a french version of the vic bitter ad song, which was even more warmly received when translated to english...a bit of a shame that the band was playing to a stict time limit (10:30!!!) but they kind of made up for this with a barrage of on-stage antics and their usual costumes (?)...note: I'm keeping it clean for the kiddies/parents who might be reading...

saturday was an early start...up at 3:45am to catch a night bus at 4:15am...temple walkabout opened at 5am...bouncedown at 5:30am...room full of dispondent Collingwood supporters and Victorians by about 7am!!! if all this sounds very vague...that's probably because it was 5-bloody-am but the Lions did the right thing by my namesake and I was able to drag myself home at 9am with "we are the pride of Brisbane town..." echoing in my head! back in my warm comfy bed and I managed to sleep from 9:30am to 6pm which made the whole morning seem quite surreal...

and for most of the AFL watching people of the world, real footy season is over (bar the draft) but there's still at least three more events on the London AFL callendar...Thursday night we've accepted an invitation to meet up with Brodie and Trent at the players party for a few drinks before the big game at the oval on Saturday...then we'll probably join Eddie and his boys for a post match wind-up on Saturday night...and then the drought begins...

okay, way too much info for one blog entry...

thanks for sharing my journey...you can catch me here!!!
