Okay, okay, it's been a while...

I can't believe I haven't written anything since July!!! Well, actually, I can - because I've hardly been to an internet cafe and my hotmail account has been closed off so it must have been a while. All reactivated now and I'll try and give you a run down of what's been going on in my world of late...

August
Moved into a lovely "log cabin" in North Acton (internal walls in all the shared areas of the house are lined with wood panelling - hence log cabin). Was really great over summer because of the back yard for bbq's etc but now that the boys have turned the heaters on, it's unbareable! Will post some photos when I get a chance...

We've only got two and a half months before the lease expires now (early January) and the saffa boys are heading home at the end of November so we're going to have a few "strangers" in there for the last month and a half. We've got the option to renew the lease until March when the landlord wants it back for rennovation but I'm thinking of finding a "hermit hole" in She Bu somewhere so that I can save some dosh for when my visa expires in May.

Celebrated the birthday "English Summer Holiday Style" with Lou and I winging our way to Lanzarote (Canary Islands) for a week. Had a great time - sun, sea, eating yummy Canarian Potatoes and Seafood. The island itself is pretty small and not all that appealing (full of sunburnt Jordies) but the sun, sea, eating and being away from work well and truely made up for it. And there were no power strikes to ruin my birthday (although Lou probably wouldn't have noticed if there had been for most of the day)! Once again, I'll put some photos up here when I get a chance.

September
Trying to think if anything actually happened in September... What the hell am I saying, the grand final happened - once again, a bit of a bizzare day watching the grand final at the Temple Walkabout at 5am but this year we had a big posse of girls (sorry Ben) and managed to kick on well into the afternoon. Went from Temple to Hogs Head (Leicester Square) with some not so random Western Australians (don't think I'll put the photos up here) then a few of us made it to She Bu Walkie for one then Ben and I made it as far as the deserted Redback before it was time to call it a day (at 6pm). Quite a long day!

October
Last Sunday (17th) I flew off to Dublin for the day to watch the mighty Australians thrash Ireland in the International Rules. Unfortunately the Irish team had a different script written and absolutely thumped us! Seven and a bit hours travelling to watch a two hour game where the Aussies put in a very poor showing! The only one who seemed to care was Mark McVeigh who got a bit fired up which got him sent off - he hardly even punched the guy...hard. Doing it all again tomorrow so hopefully the boys will come out playing so that all that travel seems worth it.

Okay, got people waiting for me at the She Bu Walkie so I must dash. Going to watch Australia vs New Zealand in the Rugby League - yes people, that's how despirate it is, I'm watching League!!! Nah, Carolyn came along to the International Rules last weekend so I said it's only fair that I come along and watch her poofy game tonight - and it's at Loftus Rd stadium so it's practically local!

Must go - I can hear the Walkie calling (or is that the rain outside?) I will try to get some photos up as soon as I get a chance.

Miss you all! Carn the Aussies!

thanks for sharing my journey...you can catch me here!!!
