I had a couple of photos developed but you'll have to click through them...

I am planning on getting my other films put onto CD so I can show you all how gorgeous Greece really is...

BB says goodbye to Greece by posing in front of the parliament building
BB enjoys a picnic at Hampstead Heath
BB visits Tower Bridge
BB says hello to a "beary friendly" beefeater
where I shared a room with Marieke for about ten weeks
we had the front downstairs room (window on right)
Stuart Road, Wimbledon Park
68 Stuart Road "our house"
68 Stuart Road what a quaint front gate and door
entry and hallway Marieke's room first door on left, lounge room 2nd, kitchen straight ahead and stairs to the other bedrooms and bathroom
kitchen gotta love that wallpaper, back door leads out to back yard and our own "outdoor dunny" and yes, it is quite "normal" to have a washing machine in the kitchen over here!
my bedroom (1) with all that sentimental "home" stuff around my mirror
my bedroom (2)
my bedroom (3) where BB spends most of his time these days
my bedroom (4) window looks over back yard

hoping to have something else interesting to write about soon. only things planned at this stage are mgf concert (26/9), AFL grand final (27/9), regurgitator concert (3/10), AFL exhibition match at the Oval (13/10) and powderfinger concert (5/11)...

not very English plans...

I'll never forget the day when...

all the power went out in London, and all the tubes closed, and all the buses were crammed full...and it was my 26th birthday and I spent three and a half hours trying to get home...carrying a pot-plant! some birthdays are memorable for various reasons, but this one was definitely unique...

I left work on time and got onto the station platform at the very point in time when the announcements started to say evacuate the station, "no problems", I thought and trotted off to Moorgate Station (also closed) then jumped on a bus to Bank Station (surprise, surprise, also closed). "no worries", I'll just find a pub to have some dinner then try again later...no, sorry, all the pubs sent their staff home when the power went off. while waiting for a bus (in the rain at this stage) I looked up to see a guy from work who'd left an hour after me. I decided that if I was to get myself lost on a bus, I might as well have someone to talk to...so we were the last people to get on the bus which didn't open it's doors (we were already packed like sardines) until we arrived at Waterloo station to catch an overland train to Wimbledon.

From Wimbledon I thought I was on a bus heading towards our new house but before I new it, I was in the middle of no-where and heading towards Putney...thankfully Marieke was at work so I phoned her and told her I was going to the pub for some dinner (at 8:30pm) and to meet me after she finished work and show me how to get home. we ended up having to walk most of the way because the buses were still full but finally got home at 9:45.

if it had been any other day, I would have been as annoyed as everyone else...but after chatting to Ashlee and Hayli (and Glen) at lunchtime...all I could do laugh and stop myself from turning around to say "well, at least it's not your birthday" to the surrounding complainees.

with the housemates assembled I opened my presents...a packet of batteries, a big bag of pistachio nuts and a disc-man (yes, the batteries were for the disc-man). I added these to my presents from Caitlin (a little book of friendship quotes and the most amazingly thoughtful gift that I've ever received of five small vials of essential oils "The Scents of Australia") and the pot-plant Mum and Dad had delivered to work (slightly bruised and battered from the journey home.

all-in-all, a memorable birthday

thanks for sharing my journey...you can catch me here!!!
